The holy Lake Manasarovar is one of the world’s highest fresh-water lakes. Therefore, a matter of pride for hindus. Covering 412 square kilometres, this lake is at the elevation of 4583 m. You may find that the deepest point of the lake is over 70 meters. No words to define the purity of this lake. Water of this lake is so much transparent that even the mirror may not be. The lake is present in the Burang County which is 20 km southeast of the Mount Kailash.
Mansarovar LakeAs per hindu mythology, the this lake was first created in the mind of the Lord Brahma. Therefore, in Sanskrit language, we call it "Manasarovar". This name is actually the combination of the words Manas and Sarovar. The lake, in Hindu mythology, is also the summer abode of swans. You should know the fact that swans are very wise and sacred water birds. Swan is the vahan of Goddess Saraswati who is goddess of Knowledge. According to our various sculptures, Devas descend to bathe in the lake between 3 and 5 am the time of the day known as Brahma Muhurta, Brahma auspicious time.
Located at the southern base of Mount Kailash, Lake Manasarovar has the unexceptional beauty. It’s a wonder that its color changes from a clear blue around the shores to a deep emerald green in the center; it looks positively magical in the moonlight. Being 55 miles (88 km) in circumference, 330 feet (90m) deep, and 120 sq mi (320 sq km) in total area, this lake is so much holy that you must visit here. In addition to never ending devotion to Bholey bhandari, this place has more other attractions. To complete a journey around the lake, it may take around 4 days to cover the distance of around 66 miles. Most of visitors choose to set-up their tent by the lake for a couple days instead, recuperating from the strenuous journey around Mount Kailash.
