As per the latest announcement made by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the financial grant allowed for the first time pilgrims of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is doubled from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1Lakh. The amount of the subsidy is raised in lieu of encouraging more pilgrimage made towards the holy Kailash Mansarovar.
Previously also, the grant was doubled from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 50,000 by the former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. This time also the grant is raised to support the holy cause of making the gap between devotee and God and allow the pilgrims to seek the blessings of the almighty through maximum financial support provided by the UP Government.
The average cost of the pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar turns around 2.5 Lakh which becomes unaffordable for many. Thus, UP Government takes the initiative to support the devotees through financial assistance of Rs. 1 Lakh.
The subsidy will be provided to first time pilgrims, who are required to show their Aadhar card, domicile certificate or a passport copy to give the proof of being a permanent resident of UP.
